Primary Purpose of Position

To work within the Tooling Department to efficiently and effectively support the general needs and duties of the department.

Major Responsibilities of Position

• Every employee has the responsibility to comply with all safety rules, quality procedures and processes established by MPA
• Install, repair, and maintain manufacturing electrical systems and components.
• Diagnose electrical malfunctions.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot issues effectively.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
• Collaborate with other technicians to plan and execute repairs and installations.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations during all work activities.
• Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
• Work all necessary overtime when scheduled.
• Have the desire to continuously improve and advance within the company.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Personal Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Attributes):

• Valid electrician's license and certification in the relevant field.
• Proven experience working as a manufacturing electrician or in a similar role. Up to 480 VAC 3 Phase.
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing electrical systems and components.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to operate diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively within a team.
• Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge in the automotive industry.

Physical demands:

• Ability to stand, walk, twist, bend, grasp and lift – occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to occasionally climb and carry up to 40 pounds
• Visual requirements include; ability to visually inspect work performed, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
• Ability to drive/operate forklift
• Must have the ability to perform the above requirements for a minimum of 8 hours daily

Work Environment

• Automotive manufacturing environment; shift work, i.e., five-eight-hour shifts for 40 regular hours per week with overtime as required.

• Shop Environment: 75% of the time, includes exposure to industrial safety hazards, loud and sudden noises, hot/humid conditions; standard tools available

• Production Environment: 25% of the time, includes exposure to industrial safety hazards, loud and sudden noises, hot/humid conditions. Extreme temperatures during the summer and winter months can be expected
