Responsible for overseeing the calculation and management of raw material budgets and forecasting financials for the Lear Global Leather Division Operations; direct the collection and compilation of global data for regional analysis, optimizing material availability and reducing obsolescence; manage global loading reporting and distribution, analyzing global loading versus planned goals and costs, and providing real-time recovery proposals; identify and address global supplier capacity constraints, implementing corporate contingency plans when necessary; oversee advanced sourcing to align raw material targets with long-range planning while continuing to manage the launch of new supply chains, maximizing availability and minimizing obsolescence; oversee the development, tracking, and reporting of internal trial progress, ensuring that sourcing objectives are met; manage the creation of internal workflows and timelines from concept through the execution of supply; utilize project management, leather manufacturing, quality assurance, materials management, enterprise resource planning (ERPs) systems, Excel, and data analysis to perform duties, ensuring the fulfillment of the activities of the position by meeting quality standards for the automotive industry and the internal procedures; direct the recording and reporting of profit improvement project statuses related to raw material sourcing and substitutions; collaborate with multiple departments to ensure the success of program launches and reporting on project statuses; manage the distribution of reports to upper management for each targeted price improvement plan; oversee the tracking of supply approvals and timing by program, identifying areas that require improvement plans; ensure clear communication with staff and senior management regarding cost-saving initiatives for global raw material supply; maintain and establish communication channels with global cross-functional teams, identifying target raw materials by program; and manage the conversion of complex information into clear, concise reports for departmental use.

Location: Southfield, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US;

Salary: $109,000 per year;

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering Technology, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);

Experience: Three (3) years in the position above, as an APQP Engineer, as a Materials Manager, as a Materials Planner, as a Production Master Scheduler, as a Quality Coordinator, as a Quality Engineer, or in a related occupation;
