Community Living Options, https://communitylivingoptions.org/, a nonprofit agency since 1986, is seeking a Human Resource Director to lead and support a dynamic HR team. Community Living Options supports over 120 individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and seniors. The organization is an employer of choice for more than 100 direct support professionals who deliver quality services to individuals served in specialized residential group homes, an adult learning center, and in supported independent living sites across Greater Kalamazoo County.
The Human Resource Director position is a leadership role responsible for overseeing all HR functions at Community Living Options. The role involves leading and supporting the HR team in managing key areas such as recruitment, payroll, benefits, employee relations, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Specific responsibilities include:

Supervising and managing the HR team to ensure efficient department operations.

Developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the organization’s mission and values.

Managing HR information systems and timekeeping to maintain accurate employee records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.

Providing expert advice on employee management issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and employee relations counseling.
•
Overseeing recruitment and selection processes, with a focus on promoting diversity and supporting career growth, to attract and retain top talent.
•
Coordinating safety programs and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations to foster a safe working environment.
•
Assisting the CEO with special projects, such as insurance renewals and board requests.
The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least 5 years of management experience and have a current HR certification.
Salary Range : $69,000-$78,000
