Summary:
The Senior Production Supervisor ensures a safe, productive environment while overseeing operations to meet production and quality goals through teamwork. They train and develop operators for success in current and future endeavors, fostering a highly effective working environment rooted in mutual respect and a shared goal of customer satisfaction. Additionally, they establish and maintain solid working relationships with internal departments and external resources.
Responsibilities:
Manage staffing, conduct daily meetings, and communicate with upper management on production status
Coach and mentor supervisors, crew leaders, and lead operators
Lead and coordinate the activities of production teams to meet production goals and quality standards
Enforce safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
Analyze production requirements and coordinate operations between departments to optimize workflow
Plan work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals
Inspect materials, products, or equipment to ensure quality standards are met
Train and mentor team members, resolving problems and fostering a positive work environment
Conduct incident reporting, safety training, and maintain regulatory documentation
Lead VIP tours of the department and present at monthly meetings
Manage hiring, retention, evaluation, and development of hourly employees
Monitor quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
Conduct production planning and ensure key performance indicators are met
Handle electronic approvals for invoices, parts orders, and organizational changes
Conduct thorough and timely Layered Process Audits in appropriate work areas
Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Management or related field or equivalent, relevant experience
Experience:
4-7+ years of experience in complex mechanical assembly, tooling, and manufacturing assembly equipment, including PLC equipment or equivalent relevant experience required
3 to 6+ years of leadership experience
Working experience with PPAP (production part approval process) requirements
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost analysis, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
