Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to move material around the yard using a variety of equipment including excavators, backhoes, skid steers, forklifts, and material handlers. The ideal candidate will be versatile in operating different types of heavy equipment and capable of assisting in various tasks around the yard and shop. The ability to multitask and handle different job responsibilities effectively is essential.
Operate a range of heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, skid steers, forklifts, and material handlers to move recycling material to designated areas.
Assist in various tasks around the yard and shop as needed.
Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment.
Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures while working.
Multi-task and handle different job responsibilities effectively.
Essential Skills
Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, skid steers, forklifts, and loaders.
Proficiency in heavy equipment operation.
Ability to operate a forklift.
Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Certification as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
Experience with front-end loaders and material handlers.
Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays.

Work Environment
This position involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions. The environment can be dirty and dusty. The standard working hours are 8am-5pm with flexibility and occasional Saturdays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
