Maintenance Technician and Electrical Specialist (6p-6.30a)
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician & Electrical Specialist (6p-6.30a) for our Plymouth, MI facility. In this role you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing and upgrading the equipment used in our manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems as well as proven ability to weld and fabricate metal tools and equipment. Additional responsibilities related to the electrical specialist role include electrical cost saving measures and championing electrical projects normally outsourced to contractors.

Your Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on electrical systems including wiring, circuit breakers, transformers and lighting systems
Respond to electrical emergencies and perform repairs as needed to minimize downtime
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed through CMMS including parts used and time spent on tasks
Champion frequent in-house thermographic surveys of electrical equipment
Conduct preventative maintenance on atomization equipment including vacuum pumps, metal atomization equipment, cooling water systems, dust collectors, blenders, powder screening equipment, etc.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, ensuring minimal downtime for production
Maintain the plant's environmental systems, including air filtration and ventilation systems
Work closely with production and quality control teams to identify and resolve issues related to equipment
Install, test, and commission new equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with safety
Adhere to safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment for all employees
Use computerized maintenance management software for daily work order tasking and requests from operations requiring facility support with general maintenance and plant safety issues
Help to maintain clean and orderly maintenance shop using 5S methodologies
Maintain the grounds and security under direction of supervisor
Assist in training other maintenance technicians, plant operators and other personnel
Work with engineers/operators to observe, test and evaluate operation of equipment to diagnose failure root cause
Perform other duties as required or requested by supervisor and manager
Your Profile:
High School Diploma or GED- work experience may substitute. Formal training as an electrical apprentice preferred
3 years electrical maintenance experience
Familiarity with the general maintenance and repair of building equipment, lighting, electrical power and distribution systems
General knowledge and skills to perform basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical wiring
Ability to assemble and disassemble mechanical systems
Ability to read drawings and transform information from drawing to finished product
Ability to demonstrate ability to MIG, TIG and arc weld
Familiarity with electrical systems, wiring diagrams and troubleshooting techniques
