Job Title: Die Setter
Job Description
We are seeking experienced Die Setters to join our team on the 1st shift. You will work closely with the Die Repair team and Operators to ensure the proper setup and operation of stamping dies. This role requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
Responsibilities
Set up stamping dies, including progressive and transfer presses.
Change tools and ensure proper setup of dies and equipment.
Understand and troubleshoot shunt heights.
Set next die up and onto press, ensuring correct placement per setup instructions.
Clean press bolster and ram prior to setting a die, as well as cleaning both upper and lower die parallels.
Bring the proper conveyors to the press and set up as required.
Unbolt dies after production runs, remove scrap, and place dies in proper locations.
Unhook transfer system items and store them properly if applicable.
Set up jobs in the press, including die setting and necessary equipment setup, and perform first piece approvals.
Competently operate the overhead crane.
Essential Skills
Forklift Certification
4+ years experience as a metal stamping die setter
Experience with setting up and adjusting dies, jigs, fixtures, and cutting tools of progressive dies
Understanding and troubleshooting shunt heights
Experience with loading sheet metal coils and dies into presses
Background with progressive dies of 400 to 2200 tonnage
Strong safety knowledge when setting dies and running a forklift/crane
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
Schuler Press experience
Ability to process and identify defective items/parts
Quality inspection/assurance skills (mics, calipers, and gages)

Work Environment
Our company recently expanded into the USA and acquired assets from a well-established firm. We have been updating our facilities with new fixtures and improving the work environment. The building includes a stamping side and a robotic weld side. The work hours for this position are Monday to Friday, 7am - 3pm, with some Saturdays.

This is a Permanent position based out of Warren, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $54080.00/yr.
Working thru new benefits package and working with the US to match the market
Starting from the ground up; would help get to make the plant what it is.
They just launched their 2nd shift; would eventually launch 3rd shift by Q4 / Q1 2025
