Position Summary:??This internship is both educational and practical and will expose incumbents to all areas of human resources management within a governmental institution/501c3 under the direct supervision of the Head of Human Resources.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in the research, development, implementation, and analysis of HR programs and policies, job descriptions, handbooks, SOPs, and special projects.
- Performs administrative duties to support HR operations to include FMLA administration, benefit administration, payroll, reporting, maintenance of personnel information and files, event planning, etc.
- Assists with recruitment, resume review, interviewing, candidate follow-up, and onboarding processes.
- Supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of employee professional development and training.
- Assists with internal and external communications.?? Performs other duties as assigned. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ??
Minimum Qualifications
- Active pursuit of a degree in Human Resources; must be in junior or senior year of undergraduate program or enrolled within a graduate degree program.
- Demonstration of professional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstration of strong service orientation.
- Demonstration of high level of professionalism, reliability, flexibility and confidentiality.
- Expression of natural curiosity and commitment to learning.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with Paycor or other HRIS systems.
- Pursuit of a graduate degree in Human Resources

?Work environment:? Work will be performed in an office environment, library spaces, and in the communities served.? Some local travel outside the library may be required.? While performing the duties of this job outside of the library environment, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.? The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.??
Schedule
15 -25 hours weekly Monday – Friday; schedule is set by semester.
Salary
$15.00 an hour, starting rate for undergraduate; $17.60 an hour; starting rate for graduate level
