The Durability Test & Data Acquisition Engineer is responsible for leading real time vehicle and system level testing projects. This engineer will be the hands-on vehicle expert to serve as the voice of the customer for the vehicle level testing and ensure that customer issues are identified, reported and resolved prior to product launch.
Duties consist of:
Root cause analysis
Hands-on vehicle evaluations/diagnosis
Application of diagnostic tools/equipment
Collecting and analyzing data
Reporting and documenting issues
Presenting information both verbal and written in meetings
Participating in/facilitating meetings
Directing drivers, mechanics and technicians
Competitive vehicle benchmarking
Collect and reduce data for use in real time simulation testing, modeling and component level testing
Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related degree field
Minimum of 1 year of experience in vehicles
Exposure to the use of various transducers for measure accelerations, displacements, and load pressure
Experience with reviewing Road Load Data to ensure data fidelity
Exposure to various durability data analysis techniques
Experience with Chassis/Suspension/Driveline systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Experience designing transducers
Experience with wheel force transducers
Experience with road load data acquisition systems
Experience with vehicle chassis / suspension / driveline systems
Experience with nCode Data analysis or other data analysis software
Real time simulation durability experience
Experience running MTS passenger and light truck road simulator test rigs and multi-axis shake tables
Experience with RPC Pro
One or more years of experience performing vehicle road load data acquisitions, measuring loads, displacements, accelerations and ETS
