Job Description
This property analyst is a staff member within the Property Services Division, Bureau of Local Government and School Services. This position is assigned to the Field Operations Section, District 2 (N) which is comprised of the following counties: Leelanau, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Manistee, Wexford, Missaukee, Ogemaw, Iosco, Alcona, Mason, Lake, Osceola, Clare, Gladwin, Arenac, Bay, Midland, Isabella, Saginaw, Oceana. This position assists in the collection of data and in there view of county equalization studies in preparation for State Equalization. The position also assists in creation of supporting data and documents necessary for the district supervisor to make recommendations regarding practices and procedures to the Division and the State Tax Commission (STC) regarding areas related to the General Property Tax Act. This position is a professional property assessor, personal property examiner and analyst regarding mass appraisal, property tax assessment administration and equalization matters. This position assists the STC by supporting the district supervisor in the determination of recommendations necessary for mandated state equalization. This position supports the administration of the General Property Tax Act, PA 206 of 1893. While this position uses considerable independent judgment in the development of appraisals and reports that will ultimately be used in State Equalization Values within Michigan Counties, those reports are subject to oversight and modification by the district supervisor.

No specific type or amount is required.
Property Analyst 10
One year of professional experience in real estate equivalent to a Property Analyst 9.
Property Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience in real estate equivalent to a Property Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Property Analyst 10.
Property Analyst 12
Three years of professional experience in real estate equivalent to a Property Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Property Analyst P11.
Alternate Education and Experience
Military: Property Analyst 9 - 12
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement. For those applicants with military service, please provide your DD214 or other official military documentation that may help identify transferable skills and experience that may qualify in lieu of the required education.
Property Analyst 9 - 12 - Alternative to bachelor's degree
Alternative for 9-Level:Certification as a Michigan Certified Assessing Officer (MCAO), Michigan Advanced Assessing Officer (MAAO) or Michigan Master Assessing Officer (MMAO) with the equivalent of one-year full-time experience (post MCAO) as a Michigan Assessing Officer.
Alternative for 10-Level:Certification as a Michigan Advanced Assessing Officer (MAAO) or Michigan Master Assessing Officer (MMAO) with the equivalent of two-years full-time experience (post MCAO) as a Michigan Assessing Officer.
Alternative for P11-Level:Certification as a Michigan Advanced Assessing Officer (MAAO) or Michigan Master Assessing Officer (MMAO) with the equivalent of three-years full-time experience (post MCAO) as a Michigan Assessing Officer.
Alternative for 12-Level:Certification as a Michigan Advanced Assessing Officer (MAAO) or Michigan Master Assessing Officer (MMAO) with the equivalent of four-years full-time experience (post MCAO) as a Michigan Assessing Officer.

Remote Work:This position is eligible for remote work up to five days per week, however selected candidate must have a safe and appropriate designated workspace or workstation for performance of work and secure and sufficient internet access of commercial cable or wireless broadband with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. Please note that occasional onsite work will be required.
Work must be performed in the state of Michigan.If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed.
