Job Title: Project Manager - Automation and Controls
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Project Manager to oversee mod build and installation for the launch of a conveyor system at a Ford plant . The successful candidate will manage projects from kickoff to launch, ensuring timelines and deadlines are met, and will lead a team of Controls Engineers.
Responsibilities
Oversee the entire project lifecycle from design to installation.
Ensure project timelines and deadlines set by the customer are met.
Attend meetings, schedule tasks, and provide quotes.
Act as the main point of contact for customers and suppliers, addressing ongoing issues.
Lead and manage a team of Controls Engineers on-site.
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Ensure the project is managed within budget and scope.
Essential Skills
5+ years of Project Management experience, handling multiple projects through various phases.
5+ years of experience in Controls Engineering/Automation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
Experience with Ford projects or conveyor systems from cradle to grave.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with material handling and large conveyor systems.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
PMP certification is a plus.
Work Environment
The candidate will work in both office and plant manufacturing environments. The office setting is casual with individual cubicles and an interactive atmosphere. On the field, the candidate will work in noisy plant facilities and may require safety equipment. The role involves 45-60 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends. The candidate will alternate between on-site work in Sheffield, OH, and the main office in Sterling Heights, with travel every two weeks. The project duration is approximately 8-10 months starting in late summer. The team culture is collaborative, with members supporting each other across different roles and projects.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $51.00/hr.
