Job Summary
A Supervisor coordinates and supervises the work of employees in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment. The individual in this role is responsible for ensuring maintenance of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems and may perform this work other duties as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws to include interviewing, hiring, training, and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and completing annual performance review on or before due date; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Support Facilities and Lab Equipment Maintenance departments in the following areas of focus driving Standardization and efficiency across the departments.
Maximo
Data review
Compliance review
Sponsor data requests regarding Facilities and LEM assets / processes
Parts ordering
SOP Updates / changes
Tracking contract updates / Renewals
P.O. Creation and tracking for third party services.
Maintain repair records and other paperwork in compliance with GMP/GLP standards as applicable.
Identify training and development needs of direct reports; assist in the development, implementation, and delivery of departmental training programs; ensure that direct reports receive departmental orientation and necessary on-the-job training; oversee maintenance of group training manual and training records.
Schedule overtime as authorized; review and approve time entry; coordinate vacation/time off schedules.
Recommend short-range operating objectives, organizational structure of direct reports and staffing requirements; assist in the development of a departmental plan for backup and succession of key technical personnel.
May assist in development of departmental budget.
Ensure optimum performance of group function; recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain state-of-the-art practices.
Assist in the development, maintenance and communication of departmental systems and SOPs; assist in the development and communication of job descriptions for subordinate positions as necessary.
Respond to emergencies as needed; provide 24-hour on-call maintenance coverage, as scheduled in rotation.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience: Associate degree preferred with four years related experience in general building maintenance and support.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to assess and troubleshoot facility systems.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization.
Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Computer skills, commensurate with Essential Functions, including the ability to learn a validated system.
Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to evenings, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice.
--Ability to work under specific time constraints.
The pay range for this position is $70-80k/year. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
