Core Responsibilities
Responsible for the advanced research of current practices & future trends related to E/E Architecture & Power Distribution Systems
Support & lead local testing related to North American regional environmental testing of low voltage battery performance
Design & development of an Auxiliary Power Distribution Controller (PDC) for NA. programs, with a potential for expanding to the main Power Distribution Controller.
Learn (via training) the HMC program deliverables & milestones for respective vehicle programs ; align ECU design timing to the overall vehicle program timing
Establish DV/PV test plan for design components
Support supplier selection process & component specification requirements development
Establish component design & development timing plan
Ensure timely meeting of design milestones & deliverables
Track all issues related to the design/development of the component - ensure resolution (with root cause & corrective action) & document lessons learned
Lead/Support meetings with R&D colleagues, component suppliers, and/or cross-functional teams
Support on-site production activities in NA. manufacturing facilities when applicable
Create and present reports for management review. Report content will vary depending upon the scope of work, but regular reports will include project status for successful delivery.
Remain current with new technology and competitive products as means to drive innovation.
Provide technical support for body electronics related concerns for both pre-production and post-production issues.
Travel both domestically and internationally (up to 15%)
Core Capabilities
Experience and understanding of ECU HW/SW design, vehicle electronic architectures & systems, network bus communication, wiring/connectors, DV/PV testing, supplier management (Electric Vehicle related experience a plus)
Good communication and interpersonal skills to develop/keep good relationship with tech experts from R&D Center and counterpart teams.
Flexible in program and process changes. Hyundai/Kia/Genesis is willing to make late changes to satisfy customer needs.
Electrical Hardware Packaging (experience in CATIA or similar CAD systems)
Electrical circuit knowledge or design experience
Experience & knowledge of electrical component specification development
Experience in understanding and creating electrical component timing & test plans
Knowledge of EV Charging components, functionality & procedures a plus
Basic Qualifications
B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or other related fields (MSEE or MBA preferred)
3+ years of automotive engineering experience
Experience with engineering projects related to design and development of vehicle electronics components.
Knowledge in vehicle electrical architectures & systems design
Working knowledge of CAN communication protocol
Experience in root cause analysis & corrective action plans of electrical systems & components
Good written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Proficient time management and organization skills
Proficient self-management skills
Valid Driver's License with satisfactory driving record
