Park Interpreter 12
This employee functions as a recognized resource responsible for planning, promoting and presenting educational and recreational activities within the PJ Hoffmaster State Park. Duties will also include planning, promoting and presenting outreach programming throughout the region as directed.
Also responsible for the effective management of the Gillette Visitor Center, including recruiting, interviewing and hiring seasonal staff; training of State Workers and scheduling and overseeing assignments of State Workers.
This employee identifies interpretive (non-personal) exhibit and other outreach needs regionally, the research associated with producing these products, and the coordination with the Marketing and Outreach Division necessary to produce these products. The Interpreter at the PJ Hoffmaster State Park, is supervised by the Interpretive Manager who is located offsite.

Responsible for planning, promoting and presenting environmental education and outdoor recreation activities within Hoffmaster, and presenting outreach programming throughout the region as directed. Responsible for the daily upkeep and operation of the Gillette Sand Dune Visitor Center at Hoffmaster State Park.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in natural sciences, park management, natural resources communication or interpretation, parks and recreation, outdoor or environmental education, fisheries and wildlife or another natural resources related field, or an education degree with an emphasis in natural science.
Experience
Park Interpreter 9
No specific type or amount is required.
Park Interpreter 10
One year of professional experience providing interpretation services equivalent to a Park Interpreter 9.
Park Interpreter P11
Two years of professional experience providing interpretation services equivalent to a Park Interpreter, including one year equivalent to a Park Interpreter 10.
Park Interpreter 12
Three years of professional experience providing interpretation services equivalent to a Park Interpreter, including one year equivalent to a Park Interpreter P11.
