NHL Linesperson needed by National Hockey League in Detroit, MI, and various NHL arenas: Officiate hockey games for the National Hockey League (NHL); enforce the league rules and policies and work to the NHL standard; provide a fair and safe environment for the players, by adjudicating the rules of the game of hockey; assess penalties, defuse heated situations, and maintain continuous progression of the game consistent with the NHL official rules; ensure that all players and coaches respect and abide by the rulings; maintain correct positioning and react quickly to game situations that arise on the ice; attend training sessions and participate in athletic events; receive instructions from sports staff or coaches prior to events; assess performance following games and make adjustments to improve performance; provide leadership to teams, and represent the NHL in media contacts or other speaking or charity events; maintain optimum physical fitness levels by training regularly, following nutritional plans, seeking advice from health professionals, and being attentive to overall health; travel to national and international NHL hockey arenas.
