We are hiring a QA Lead for our Patent Classification Team focused in our Biotech and Chemistry space. In this role, you will facilitate the quality of Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC) Work Product submitted to the contracting authorities by implementing quality control systems and overseeing the quality of Patent Classifiers, as well as providing individual and group feedback and ongoing training. You will also be responsible for soliciting and implementing feedback and training from the contracting authorities.
About you - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience
5+ years of experience in a patent classification, patent quality, or similar role
What will you be doing in this role?
Ensure quality of all classification work submitted to the patent and trademark office (PTO) according to the compliance criteria imposed by the PTO
Mentor and guide Classifiers in the completion and review of CPC classifications by ensuring appropriate feedback, recognition, and guidance is provided on all classifications
Assist Group Lead in identifying and developing Classifiers to mentor others and review classifications
Complete classification and reclassification work duties as needed

Hours of Work
Monday through Friday, 40 hours/week US time zones
This is a hybrid position working 2-3 days a week in office
Must reside within a commutable distance from Ann Arbor MI, Kansas City MO, Alexandria VA, Philadelphia PA, or Tempe, AZ
