This position serves as team manager with the responsibility for administrating daily backup/recovery server operations for the State of Michigan. The position is responsible for backup/recovery server hardware, operating system and system software support. The position’s responsibilities include management of implementation of new backup/recovery server architecture installation and configuration of backup/recovery servers; backup/recovery server monitoring and performance management; backup/recovery server security; installation of non-operating system software; establishing best practices for backup/recovery server management; manage multiple projects; identify trends in backup/recovery server management and recommend and implement new technologies.
Required Education and Experience

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree with not less than 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.
Experience
Three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Programmer/Analyst or IT Project Coordinator P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Programmer/Analyst or IT Project Coordinator 12.
Alternate Education and Experience
Three years of experience as a computer programming supervisor or Information Technology
Supervisor may be substituted for the education and experience.
