Description
We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. This role involves a range of accounting duties, including account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management. The project will last approximately 3-5 weeks, however, a more long-term opportunity may become available for the right individual.
Responsibilities:
Accurately reconcile accounts to ensure financial accuracy
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to confirm financial data integrity
Oversee bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of transactions
Manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial data is recorded correctly
Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records
Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize and analyze financial data
Conduct month end close procedures to finalize financial records for the month
Operate Sage Accounting Software for various accounting tasks
Requirements - Possession of a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or a similar role in the Accounting department
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze financial data
Expertise in handling Account Reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy
Experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation to maintain precise financial records
Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations to validate company's financial records with bank statements
Comprehensive knowledge of the General Ledger to manage the company's financial transactions
Expertise in creating and managing Journal Entries to record financial transactions
Ability to perform Month End Close activities to finalize financial data for the specific period
Familiarity with Sage Accounting Software for streamlining accounting processes and tasks
Strong analytical skills to parse through complex financial data and provide insights
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing all tasks
Good communication skills to present financial information to stakeholders
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team to achieve organizational goals.
