Work Arrangement
Onsite - This position requires the employee to be onsite full time. The primary work location will be at the General Motors Global Technical Center in Warren, MI.
The Role
We are seeking an Integrated Electronics Systems Engineer to join our Advanced Development team within GM's new Autonomous Robotics Center (ARC) Organization. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating electronic systems for advanced automation and robotics applications. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to create innovative solutions that enhance the performance, reliability, and safety of our robotic systems.
Joining our ARC organization will provide you with the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, contribute to innovation, and collaborate with a diverse team of experts. You will play a key role in advancing our automation capabilities and ensuring that our electronic systems are at the forefront of the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop integrated electronic systems for advanced automation and robotics applications.
Integrate electronic components, such as sensors, actuators, and control units, into cohesive systems.
Support the development and application of custom Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs).
Collaborate with hardware, software, and control teams to ensure seamless integration of electronic systems.
Conduct tests and evaluations to validate the performance, reliability, and safety of electronic systems.
Participate in feasibility studies and prototyping to explore new technologies and methodologies.
Provide technical guidance and support to other teams within the ARC organization.
Work closely with the Robotics and Software teams to align electronic systems development with the technological roadmap.
Additional Job Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
5+ years of professional experience in designing and developing integrated electronic systems.
Strong knowledge of electronic components, such as PCBs, sensors, actuators, and control units.
Experience in integrating electronic systems with mechanical and software components.
Proficiency in Python and/or C/C++ Proficiency in the use of common electronics laboratory test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.) for board bring-up and debugging.
Ability to parse technical requirements documents and circuit board design files for the support of board bring-up, debugging, and testing.
Support the development of requirements specifications and procedures for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) fabrication, assembly, and integration.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in the robotics or automation industry.
Knowledge of advanced electronic systems design methodologies and tools.
Experience in prototyping and feasibility studies.
Familiarity with the latest trends and technologies in electronic systems for robotics.
