Position Title: Structured Learning Assistant (SLA) Facilitator

Status: Part-Time, Semester-by-Semester Appointment
Position Summary
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience, skills, and commitment to fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion in students, faculty, and staff.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide academic assistance to developmental students in math or English by attending class meetings of the assigned course and facilitating weekly workshops.
- Model successful student behaviors and provide experiences that enhance student learning.
- Assist students with study skills, test preparation, time management, methods of inquiry, and learning strategies related to course content.
- Take attendance and accurately collect, maintain, and submit data such as surveys and contact sheets in a timely manner.
- Meet regularly with course instructors to plan and receive feedback.
- Collaborate with the TLC Manager as needed for program development and student support.
- Work flexible hours during Fall, Winter, and Spring semesters based on course assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum technology skills for managing coursework and student interactions.
- Associate degree in a related field with at least one year of tutoring or teaching experience.
- Proficiency in course content (math or writing).
- Working knowledge of skills being taught in the assigned class.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Additional Experiences Considered
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- One or more years of experience tutoring or teaching Developmental Math and/or English.
