Position Title: Swim Instructor

Status: Part-Time Temporary (18-20 hours/week
Position Summary
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience, skills, and commitment to fostering an environment of belonging, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The Swim Instructor is responsible for teaching private and group swim classes in accordance with Fitness & Recreation Center (FRC) guidelines.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Teach private and group swim lessons following FRC curriculum and guidelines.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all swim students during lessons.
- Provide clear instructions and demonstrations to support swimmers of all skill levels.
- Assess students’ progress and provide feedback to help them improve their swimming abilities.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding lesson schedules, progress, and safety rules.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Certified in a recognized Swim Instructor program.
- Must be able to see and hear calls of distress.
- Ability to pick up and transport equipment as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Display emotional maturity, strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a positive attitude.
Additional Experiences Considered
- Current certification in any recognized Swim Instructor program.
