As our Front-End Developer at the Federal Reserve you will develop websites and applications that keep the public educated and informed about the working of the nation's central bank. Our projects help make the underlying structure of the economy visible to the public and keep policy makers informed about the state of the economy. Reporting to the Public Affairs Web Team Manager, you will develop and validate user experience solutions for department, Bank and District platforms including websites, web applications, mobile applications, and museum exhibits.
This position internally will be titled as a Senior Front UX/Web Designer.
This position offers the possibility of working remotely or hybrid from Detroit, MI or Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities:
You will apply basic understanding of usability and user experience design to develop creative interactive designs for the Banks' online, mobile and museum platforms
Meet with customers and project teams to collect requirements, scope projects, and contribute to creative and technical concepts
You will implement modifications to existing websites to accommodate changes in user requirements
Employ best practices in the conducting and interpreting of usability tests focused on user experience and effectiveness against project goals
You will help identify areas for improvements and assists managing projects to implement enhancements to completion including software
Document design and interaction standards and work with staff vendors to enforce their application
Maintain software code following established organization standards and development guidelines
You will work with team members to provide support for department customers in District technology including web content management systems, event management systems, campaign management systems and telecommunications/video conferencing systems
Your Background:
Bachelor's degree in human interface design, computer science or related field plus courses relevant to web technology or user experience
3 to 5 years of direct experience
Expertise with user interaction design across diverse platforms
Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web-oriented technologies
Familiarity with web content managements systems, web accessibility standards and style guides
