A chiropractic assistant primarily supports the chiropractor by managing patient records, scheduling appointments, preparing exam rooms, assisting with chiropractic treatments, and performing administrative tasks, all while maintaining a clean and organized office and prioritizing excellent patient care.
Key responsibilities may include:
Patient care:
- Greeting patients and escorting them to exam rooms
- Preparing patients for chiropractic adjustments
- Assisting the chiropractor during treatments by positioning patients and handing instruments
- Applying modalities like ice packs or electrical stimulation as directed
Administrative tasks:
- Scheduling appointments and managing patient calendars
- Maintaining patient records, including medical history and treatment plans
- Answering phone calls and managing patient inquiries
- Maintaining office inventory
Office Operations:
- Keeping the office clean and sanitized
- Maintaining the appearance of the office
- Sterilizing equipment and supplies
Required Skills:
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients
- Strong organizational skills to manage appointments and patient records efficiently
- Detailed-oriented to ensure accuracy in patient information and treatment plans
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and anatomy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
