Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Spa & Salon Manager, provide a wide variety of spa services including but not limited to: body treatments and massage therapy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain product knowledge of all professional and retail products.
- Maintain a professional, positive and relaxing environment for guests and fellow employees.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment; sanitize tools as required.
- Prepare room for the type of service.
- Greet guests and escort them to the room.
- Plan, implement, evaluate, and schedule messages for guests.
- Conduct interviews with individual guests to determine which massage therapies would be the most beneficial.
- Uses various modalities or massage techniques and skills that may include Swedish massage, Thai massage, deep tissue massage, and pressure point massage.
- Keep products stocked and work area neat at all times.
- Maintain a clear understanding of all policies and procedures.
- Attend all necessary meetings.
- Maintain continuing education to keep up with current trends.
- Keep management informed of any internal issues within the company.
- Report to work on time and as scheduled.
- Design treatments, analyze costs and provide training to spa =team members on protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:
- Contact with guests and departmental team members in providing excellent guest service. Work directly with co-workers on day to day basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Michigan massage certification with 600 total hours required for massage certification.
- Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.
Desired Qualifications:
License, Certification, or Special Requirements:
- Valid State of Michigan massage certification.
- Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledgeable of therapeutic evaluation, massage techniques, and hands-on application of techniques.
- Knowledgeable in the areas of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.
- Skill in treating internal and external customers with tact, courtesy, and respect.
- Ability to recognize, evaluate, and assess sports injuries.
- Ability to teach health and wellness activities to a wide variety of age groups and learning abilities.
- Ability to maintain a membership in a professional association such as the American Massage Therapy Association, Society for Public Health, or American Health Education.
- Ability to analyze and react to emergencies quickly, calmly, and effectively.
- Ability to recognize and correct unsafe activities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.

Physical Demands:
- Frequent use of arms, hands, wrists, fingers associated with massage.
- Required to stand for extended periods of time.
- Extensive use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
- Significant reaching with hands and arms in any direction and kneeling, stooping, or crouching.
- Must be able to lift moderately heavy massage beds and linens.
- Occasionally assist with mobility of Spa clients.
- Occasionally lift/move a minimum of 40 pounds up to 100+ lbs.
Work Environment:
- Spa and Salon environment.
- Occasional standing and walking throughout the Casino and Resort in a smoking environment and contact with the general public.
- Frequent exposure to pool and salon chemicals and cleaning supplies.
- Frequent walking in slippery and wet areas.
- Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
