Job Summary
The Physician, Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner are directly responsible for performing and recording patient health history, patient examination and diagnosis, recommendation of medical treatment, rendering of on-site treatment and hospitalization services as necessary. The physician is also responsible for appropriate documentation in the patient chart. Participates in a team-based approach to care in the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). The Physician retains ultimate responsibility for patient care, with the Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner consulting with Physician for any situation(s) that are deemed to be beyond the scope of their practice or experience. This is an 8 hours per week office position and 4 hours on call.
Job Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited Medical School.
- Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or State Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Michigan.
- Current DEA license.
- Board Eligible.
- Board Certified preferred.
- Bilingual
OR
- Evidence of completion from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current Licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan.
- Current Federal DEA Schedule II License.
OR
- Evidence of completion from either an accredited Nurse Practitioner Certificate program or Master's Degree Nurse Practitioner Program which conforms to Board of Registered Nursing standards.
- R.N. (State of Michigan), and Specialty Certification by State of Michigan Board of Registered Nursing and/or Specialty Certification through the ANA as a Nurse Practitioner.
