Job Title: Multi-Site School-Age Program Director

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To assist the District Early Childhood Facilitator in the establishment and monitoring of staffing, children, and budget of the Before and After School Programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in administering the Standards of Quality for child care programs.
- Assist in supervising personnel.
- Assist in the development of curriculum.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Program Guide, Health Policy and Procedures, and Staff Handbook.
- Assist in implementing Child Care Licensing rules and regulations.
- Assist in compiling, submitting, and reviewing written reports as required for the programs.
- Assist in scheduling staff according to the number of children enrolled.
- Ensure family billing cards are current.
- Complete weekly deposits.
- Ensure weekly children’s numbers, payroll, and DHS billing are submitted properly.
- Assist in record-keeping for the programs.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
DIMENSIONS OF POSITION
- Assist in supervising children and personnel assigned to the Before and After School Programs.
- Administer curriculum.
- Counsel children, parents, and staff.
- Plan and supervise all aspects of the program as assigned by supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood (preferred) from an accredited college or university as determined by the Michigan State Department of Education.
- Meet the minimum requirements as stated by the State of Michigan Department of Human Services Office of Children and Adult Licensing; Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers for a Program Director.
Minimum General Requirements:
- Background knowledge of the State of Michigan Department of Human Services Office of Children and Adult Licensing; Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers.
- Must have the physical stamina to work long and flexible hours.
- Demonstrate ability to organize and operate programs.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, with school administrators, staff, parents, and children.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in child care and early childhood education.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents, and the community.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform duties in compliance with district requirements, Board of Education policies, and applicable State and Federal laws.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly required to stand, talk, and hear; may also be required to walk and sit.
- Occasionally required to push or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Responsible for the safety and well-being of children and other individuals.
- Requires close vision for reading handwritten or typed materials and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to handle multiple demands from various individuals while interacting with staff, children, and the public.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The noise level is typically moderate to loud.
- Duties are performed both indoors and outdoors.
