Operator/Assembler
Purpose:
The purpose of the Machine Operator/Part Assembler is to ensure that product is produced/ assembled efficiently to customer specification
Job Summary:
As the Machine Operator you will work with mechanically based machines to produce quality product. You will be responsible to ensure efficiency and productivity levels while maintaining quality of parts produced
Job Responsibilities:
Utilizing Part Identification, access Operator Description Sheet [ODS] in ERP system for assembly, fixture use, visual inspection, packaging and labelling requirements.
As applicable, assemble parts per ODS instructions.
Use of fixture or visual inspection, per ODS, check part.
Distribute parts as applicable – good, questionable, eject .
Pack part as per ODS.
Place supplied labels on packaging.
Maintain part/machine efficiencies.
Follow instructions from Lead Hand or Supervisor .
Maintain good housekeeping .
Ensure compliance / enforcement of Axiom Plastics plant standards.
Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health and safety rules and regulations.
Perform additional tasks as assigned .
Ensures compliance to TS-16949/IATF-16949 systems and procedures.
Qualifications:
Grade 12 education or equivalent
Experience working in a manufacturing environment (Plastics industry preferred)
Problem-solving
Interpersonal skills
Good communication skills (Oral, written & verbal)
Able to lift 10 – 15lbs
Familiarity of machine tonnages from 40 tons to 2400 Ton an asset
Be flexible to work afternoons and night shift, and able to work overtime when needed
Forklift license and crane certification an asset.
Operator pay is $17/hour plus shift premium and the automation tech is dependent on experience.
