Job Summary
The HR Compliance Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing HR compliance projects to ensure that the organization adheres to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations. This role will involve developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, conducting regular audits, and addressing potential compliance issues. The HR Compliance Project Manager will work closely with various departments, including HR, Legal, and Operations, to ensure alignment and awareness of compliance requirements.Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage HR compliance-related projects, including audits, policy/process updates, and training/communication initiatives.
Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables to meet HR compliance objectives.
Proactively identify emerging HR compliance issues and propose solutions or policy changes to mitigate risks.
Develop, update, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and other compliance-related documents in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Ensure consistent application of HR policies across the organization.
Conduct regular audits and reviews of HR processes, practices, and records to identify compliance gaps or areas of improvement and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations, providing updates to HR leadership and other stakeholders.
Design and deliver trainings and communications plans for HR teams, managers, and employees to support HR compliance activities.
Develop resources and tools to promote understanding and adherence to HR compliance requirements.
Create and maintain accurate and organized records of HR compliance activities, including policy updates, training materials, and project requirements.
Collaborate with legal counsel as needed to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
Provide support across all divisions and partner cross-functionally with Operations, HR, and Legal teams to execute projects effectively.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in a Human Resources role, preferably in a compliance or project management capacity.
Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, and stakeholder communication.
Experience managing complex projects and working with cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and compliance best practices.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and educate others.
Ability to translate HR operational needs from business requirements.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Continuous process improvement focus.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Lean practices or project management methodology.
Proficiency in HRIS and other relevant business applications.
Knowledge and experience with HR systems to leverage and achieve process efficiency.
HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR) is preferred.
