Job Description:
This is NOT an entry-level position.
We are seeking a Shipping & Receiving Specialist to manage incoming and outgoing shipments, maintain an organized warehouse, and handle business system tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
Shipping & Receiving:
- Receiving: Accept incoming shipments, check for damage, and verify items against purchase orders.
- Storing: Organize and label incoming stock while maintaining accurate inventory using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles.
- Shipping: Prepare orders for shipment, label outgoing packages, and ensure timely processing.
Warehousing:
- Follow all safety regulations and procedures (e.g., wearing protective equipment, keeping aisles clear).
- Set priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a clean, orderly warehouse.
- Track inventory, shipping records, and purchase orders.
- Respond to phone calls and emails while communicating with vendors.
- Conduct quarterly physical inventory and work to identify gaps.
- Address supply chain issues as they arise.
- Operate a forklift as required.
System / Accounting:
- Work within business IT software to input and modify customer orders, create purchase orders, update inventory pricing, etc.
- Complete monthly sales tracking reports for key suppliers.
Product Knowledge:
- Develop knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to assist customers when needed.
- Gain an understanding of technical gas detection products to support customers effectively.
