The Clinical Educator is responsible for improving patient education and staff competency through direct education, role modeling, leading orientation, patient education and annual competency evaluation. Provides assistance in staff development related to new technology. Must have the ability to enhance and improve an individual's performance along with their organizational skills.
MINIMUM EDUCATION
- BSN or current enrollment in MSN program with completion within 12 months of hire
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated clinical expertise
Strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated knowledge of patient care systems and health care informatics
Computer and composition skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MSN/M.Ed, related field or actively pursuing, or equivalent experience
Previous design experience, working within a computer based training/e-learning environment and a minimum of two years of formal education and/or instructional design experience
Five years of patient care
Previous experience in teaching adult learners and experience as a preceptor in a clinical environment
Professional Certifications to support a culture of nursing excellence
