Cherry Republic, Inc. d/b/a Cherry Public House in Glen Arbor, Michigan, has opening for 15 full time temporary Line Cooks, $16.38/hr to $22.00/hr ($24.57/hr to $33.00/hr O.T.) from 5/15/2025 to 10/31/2025. Duties include: Responsible for the preparation of food before and after cooking with regard to the operational standards and recipes; prepare a variety of foods, meat, poultry, vegetables, and other hot food items; cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff; use food preparation tools in accordance with safety regulations; returns dirty food preparation utensils to the appropriate areas; always maintain a prepared, clean and sanitary work area; set-up and stock stations with all necessary supplies; constantly use safe and hygienic food handling practices; cover, date and correctly store all pieces and food prep items; clean dishes when necessary for the job; open / close kitchen correctly and follow checklist for kitchen stations.
12 months exp. req. All employees must be able to be on their feet for the duration of a 8 to 10-hour shift. The ability to lift food containers and raw goods weighing 30 to 50 lbs. is also required. Ability to handle knives, grills, stoves, ovens, fryers, and food warmers is necessary. The specific days and hours of work will vary depending on scheduling and the level of business. The employer is open 7 days per week. Employees will generally work 5 days per week, shifts include 12:00 pm to 9:30 pm; 10:30 am to 4:40 pm; 4:00 pm to 9:30 pm; 12:00 pm to 9:30 pm; 10:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Will receive rotating days off but must be available to work all shifts. Weekend work required. Approximately 35 hours per week with some overtime. The worksite is located at 6026 S Lake St. Glen Arbor, MI.

Workers are paid every two weeks. A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law but will make no other deductions. Raises and bonuses available based on performance or length of service with employer. Employee discounts (40% in restaurant, 25% in retail store, 50% on clothing items).
Work tools, supplies and equipment will be provided without charge or deposit.
If required by prevailing law the employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees) incurred by the worker. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
The employer does not require workers to use company house however, on a voluntary basis the employer does make housing available at a cost to the worker of rental payments: $500 per month split into two installments of $250 per paycheck . If a worker rents housing from the employer, the employee will be asked to agree to have the rent deducted from their paycheck. The employer does not provide transportation to the worksites during the term of employment. Public transportation is available.
