JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
The Engineer Intern is responsible for entry level designs of/for machines and the creation/maintenance of 2D drafts used for production of parts and assemblies. They will assist in designing, developing, implanting, and analysis of various parts and/or assemblies. They will perform routine engineering design tasks with standard techniques. They will adhere to all Bandit safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under close supervision will apply basic concepts and techniques to various projects.
- Produce drawings and bill of materials (BOM) from sketches, existing drawings, electronic imagines, along with written and verbal descriptions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
- Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, or maintain products, equipment, systems, or processes to meet requirements.
- Confer with senior engineers of other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.
- Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend solutions.
- Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid Edge or other design program experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelors’ degree in related field preferred but not required
- Two (2) or more years of experience in related position
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently sit for extended periods of time
- Occasionally stand, walk, push, pull, stoop, pinch, grasp, and/or bend
- Requires employee to occasionally work both inside/outside in heat/cold, and/or wet/humid conditions.
- Occasionally required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injury.
- Occasionally lift 30 pounds
