Summary: Monitor and control the quality of products following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications and/or sets up and operates numerical/computer numerical (CNC) control machine to cut, shape or form metal work pieces to specifications by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.
- Reviews setup sheet and specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence and quality control of finished work piece.
- Manipulates controls and enters commands to index cutting tool to specified set point and to start machine.
- Set up and assembles precision components into machined cast housings using jigs, fixtures and hydraulic presses.
- Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
- Inspect work pieces to guarantee conformance to specifications using in process prints and gages provided.
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust or dirt from work pieces.
- Wash, pack and mark material in preparation for shipment.
- Organize, clean and maintain work area.
- Transport raw material, in process parts and finished goods via forklifts and hand trucks.
- Notifies supervisor of discrepancies.

- Ability to read blueprints preferred.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide decimals, whole numbers and fractions.
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
- Must have good communication skills.
- Ability to read procedures, work instructions and process routings.

Visually inspecting work pieces and tooling for discrepancies, 8hrs/day.
