Job Description:
Midland County Habitat for Humanity ReStore is hiring for a part-time driver/sales associate, approximately 32-36 hours per week, including two Saturdays a month.
Responsibilities:
- Lift and handle items weighing at least 50 lbs unaided.
- Assist with loading and unloading merchandise.
- Provide excellent customer service through verbal and written communication.
- Clean and organize merchandise in the store and stockroom.
- Understand and apply the store's pricing structure.
- Maintain full knowledge of store products, including availability, location, storage, and placement of items.
- Sort donated items, ensure items have proper parts, are safe, and are in working condition.
- Complete accurate donation slips for customers.
- Follow all traffic laws and adhere to road safety rules.
- Obtain or possess a chauffeur’s license and DOT medical card prior to hiring.
- Operate a 20-foot cargo truck, including performing basic maintenance checks (e.g., lights, oil).
- Demonstrate proper respect for customers and their property while working in customers' homes.
- Accurately record donated items and daily/weekly vehicle maintenance checks.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Valid driver’s license with chauffeur’s endorsement (or ability to acquire).
- Clean driving record.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of store products and donation processes.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including Saturdays.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs unaided and perform tasks requiring frequent bending, stooping, and standing.
