G ENERAL SUMMARY:
The goal of Henry Ford Health Game On Cancer is to support patients fighting cancer and their families throughout their treatment journey. This allows patients to focus health, healing and feeling better.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Manager of Game On Cancer (GOC), this position will support and increase philanthropic production of the Game On Cancer fundraising campaign. The Game On Cancer Specialist will be responsible for all stages of volunteer management, internal fundraisers, third-party events calendar and some special projects. This position will also support the planning and execution of peer-to-peer fundraising recognition and incentives.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Works well with donors, volunteers, executive leadership, medical group leadership, corporate sponsors, development peers and other administrators. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, emotional intelligence, relationship building skills, organizational skills and solid knowledge of fundraising, event planning, and volunteer management. Must be guided by a compelling "client/customer" orientation and strategic thinking. Computer skills are essential and include word processing, spreadsheet creation/management, database management, fundraising software and other relevant software packages.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with Game On Cancer Manager primarily and provide additional support to the communication team to assist with social media and the Game On Cancer newsletter.
Maintain and refine internal processes that supports Game On Cancer to coordinate internal and external resources and expedite workflows.
Participates in the planning and execution of Game On Cancer fundraising event and assist with large volunteer groups, fundraisers and teams.
Supports Game On Cancer campaign activation activities across Henry Ford Health, Peer-to-Peer, Corporate Kick Off and other related events.
Works closely with appropriate Development Office team members to solicit or support solicitations.
Works closely with Game On Cancer Manager on scheduling, tracking, and recruiting volunteers.
Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.
Availability to work evenings and some weekends.
Performs other responsibilities or assignments as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree, required. In lieu of educational credentials, applicants must have a minimum of six years of experience working in the non-profit sector.
