
Rolls Mechanical is looking to hire a General Manager of Construction.
This position requires a strategic leader responsible for planning, organizing, managing and delivering financial results for all construction services (including HVAC-R, Hydronics, Plumbing, Pipefitting, Electrical, Insulation, Controls, etc.). Lead the sales function and business operations of Rolls Mechanical through the design and implementation of strategies to achieve aggressive business goals. Be the leader responsible for building our emerging construction trades (electrical, insulation, controls) and becoming the market leader in these trades! Develop and lead sales strategy to promote growth and ensure the continuous, sustainable, and efficient operation of the Construction Department. Directly supervises and coordinates the activities of the construction staff, including recruitment, performance management, development, formal training, and engagement. The General Manager of Construction will report directly to the C-Suite team.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a high-performance culture in your division with a foundation built on trust, mutual respect, integrity and quality.
- Develop and lead execution of 5-10+ year strategies to develop & grow the division and deliver on key financial, employee experience and customer delight results.
- Develop and execute both quarterly and annual plans for the division in support of business objectives and in cooperation with all company departments to achieve the 5-year strategy.
- Provide leadership in establishing a culture focused on quality, safety and code compliance. Help implement and maintain safety protocols and compliance initiatives.
- Build out and develop a strong leadership team (estimators, project managers, contract administrator, field foreman) within your division to ensure a succession plan for key roles, developing talent and long term career development encouraging employee retention.
- Work closely with support personnel and functional leaders in developing annual budgets and executing to meet those commitments.
- Direct responsibility for the leadership of all construction division functions (Sales, Operations, Installation, Warranty, Marketing, etc...) as well as indirect leadership of some other key functions that support the construction division - example: service, customer service, accounting, etc.
- Conduct and document quality assurance and safety inspections throughout the construction process, ensuring that the work environment is acceptable and that tools and equipment are in good working condition
Planning
- Develop, review, update, and implement business strategic planning,
- including sales, financial performance, staffing, and development.
- Engage and cooperate with corporate officers and department heads in broader organizational strategy planning.
- Ensure the creation and implementation of a strategy to grow the business.
- Consistently observe and report competitor activities and react with recommendations to the C-Suite Team.
- Work on continuously improving systems, technology, communication practices, vendor relations, etc. to ensure decreasing costs, highest quality and timely delivery for construction services, purchasing, inventory, logistics operations, maintenance, etc.
Organizing
- Analyze current business processes, suggest revisions to the C-Suite and adjust as needed.
- Set goals and objectives for the department, teams and individuals. Review the activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
- Ensure the development of tactical programs to pursue targeted goals and objectives.
- Attend, preside over meetings, and manage behavior & outcomes.
- Staffing
- Evaluate and decide upon critical investments in talent in cooperation with the C-Suite team.
- Hire, train, coach, discipline, and terminate workers as needed.
- Determine salary brackets and recommend compensation changes.
- Manage employee relations and employee records within department.
- Oversee critical hiring and talent development programs.
- Encourage continuous professional development to keep up with new methods and technologies.
Directing
- Oversee and manage daily operations for the department.
- Provide direct management of key functional managers and executives in the department.
- Participate in developing policies and procedures.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Create and manage consistent communication with employees, department heads, and senior management.
- Implement efficient processes and workflows to maximize productivity and quality.
Controlling
- Coordinate the development of key performance goals for functions and direct reports.
- Solicit customer or client feedback.
- Review and approve the preparation of accounting analysis for budgetary planning and implementation, production efficiency, financial reporting, and capital expenditure submission.
- Develop budgets and ensure the department adheres to them.
- Evaluate and decide upon critical investments in infrastructure and equipment.
- Communicate strategy and results to the department's employees as needed.
Leading

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
