Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00
Job Summary: The Director of Information Technology & Support Services provides vision and leadership for the development and implementation of innovative University-wide technology, information systems support, and security management plans that align with the University mission and strategic goals. The Director of Information Technology & Support Services plans, implements, and manages academic and administrative computing services and campus network infrastructure, and works closely with faculty and administrative staff in identifying and evaluating technology priorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic thinker with an open and collaborative style of leadership that fosters teamwork, sustains a learning environment for staff, and develops a first-class service organization that engenders trust from the University community.
- Strategic and operational oversight of the Learning Management System, including related communication, training and support.
- Development and oversight of a comprehensive knowledge-centered-service Support Center.
- Develops and maintains the campus comprehensive plan for all software, hardware, and telecommunication infrastructure.
- Possess demonstrated experience administering technology applications which support efficient and effective academic and administrative functions.
- Knowledge of developing technology trends that potentially impact University teaching, student learning, classroom delivery, facilitation of online/hybrid teaching, and business practices.
- Advises on and implements Information Technology strategic planning and policy issues.
- Directs and administers plans with software development not associated with the ERP.
- Develops and manages Information Technology & Support Services budgets, emphasizing expenditure management and strategic allocation of resources.
- Develops information technology security plans to prevent security incidents and leads incident response.
- Review and manage information system contracts with various suppliers, including software compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received: Supervision is received from the Vice President for Administration and Business Affairs.
Supervision Exercised: Supervision is exercised over administrative professionals, clerical, and student employees in the department with several direct reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information System, Computer Science,
- Educational Technology, Business, or closely related field.
- Five or more years of senior level technology and/or information systems related administrative experience.
- Demonstrated success and experience supervising and managing technology departments and systems in a complex organization.
- Experience in administering a cloud-based on on-premise IT infrastructure and security policies and processes.
- Administrative experience in planning, financial management, and management of staff.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of security issues, crisis management and business continuity; and legal issues regarding technology.
- Ability to manage finite resources in a high demand environment.
- Demonstrated success in strategic and operational planning, policy development, and problem solving.
- Experience and ability to positively interact with diverse student populations and groups.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Business, or closely related field.
Working Conditions:
Duties are generally performed indoors and not normally exposed to adverse conditions.
