Assembles guest chairs and/or forms or other furniture per blueprint specifications. Utilizes hand and air-powered tools and air- and hand-operated frame clamps; occasionally uses wood working machinery. Frequently loads, unloads, lifts/moves, pulls/pushes, and/or positions products and materials, weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally weighing more (assistance given with heavier objected by work partner[s]), throughout work center. Assembly operations involve frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, turning, and lifting. Inspects incoming component parts per Haworth quality standards to ensure proper fit and function of all components; corrects or replaces unacceptable parts as necessary. Determines if damaged product should be scrapped or repaired; creates scrap ticket when necessary. Ensures paint/product/material has no flaws and is correct color. Monitors material usage and floor stock to ensure accurate inventory; retrieves parts and materials as needed from inventory. Notifies material handler or department clerk of any floor stock and/or inventory discrepancies. Performs functional and visual inspection of all completed product, ensuring Haworth quality and assembly specifications are met. If problems are identified, troubleshoots and corrects problems. Performs daily maintenance duties, including work center and/or equipment preventative maintenance, to ensure and maintain clean, safe, and well-kept work environment and to continuously improve process uptime. Follows all safety requirements and communicates any safety concerns. Ensures and maintains safety and cleanliness of work area by performing housekeeping duties. Performs and cross trains on various line positions as required. Completes appropriate paperwork. Performs all duties as assigned to ensure department and plant, meet daily and weekly production requirements.
The main worksite location is 1400 M 40 Door 49, Holland, MI 49423.
Individuals will be required to travel to the following counties in Michigan to provide services: Allegan, Mason, and Mecosta. Individuals will be required to travel to the following Haworth facilities in Michigan to provide services: 1400 M 40 Door 49, Holland, MI 49423; 1919 Mason Industrial Dr, Big Rapids, MI 49307; and 5170 W Progress Dr, Ludington, MI 49431.
The salary for this position is $18.90 per hour. The overtime rate is $28.35 per hour.
This position requires 40 hours per week. Work is usually done Monday through Friday. Varying shifts: First shift is from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm, and second shift is from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Weekend shifts may be available depending on the needs of the business. Overtime hours may vary depending on the needs of the business.
These are seasonal and temporary full-time positions from April 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025.
1) On-the-job training in the proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment will be provided.
2) Overtime is available for each hour worked above 40 per week at one and a half times the hourly base rate.
3) Wages are paid biweekly on Fridays by check. A single workweek is used as the standard for computing wages due.
4) Haworth, Inc. provides daily transportation to and from work sites in company vehicles.
5) The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law. The employee will be offered standard health, dental, and vision benefits. The employer may make deductions at the request of the employee. The employer facilitates voluntary rental housing arrangements. If an employee elects a voluntary housing arrangement, the employer will deduct any expenses associated with housing from payroll at a rate of no more than $125.00 per person per week. No other deductions will be made.
6) Haworth, Inc. will reimburse all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees (including those mandated by the government) for H-2B workers within the first week of employment.
7) Haworth, Inc. will provide customary and reasonably necessary tools or supplies for the performance of these duties to candidates without charge or deposit.
8) If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place where the worker has come to work for Haworth, Inc. The amount of reimbursable daily subsistence expenses during travel will be at least $15.88, and a maximum of $59 per day if documented with actual receipts.
9) Haworth, Inc. will pay for the worker's cost of return transportation home and daily subsistence from the place of employment to the place the worker departed to work for Haworth, Inc. if the worker completes the required period of employment or is dismissed by Haworth, Inc. from employment before the end of the period for any reason.
10) Haworth, Inc. makes the three-fourth guarantee by offering employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of each 12-week period.
