General Position Overview
Serve SoundOff Signal Teams and Goals through the following Pillars of Manufacturing Engineering:
* Process Support: Provide Zero Minute Response to Manufacturing Production Issues. Reduce and prevent downtime through Preventative Maintenance.
* Process Improvement: To be Change Agents by utilizing KPI's, Customer Feedback and Operations Team Feedback
* Product Launch: To be the Process and Product Experts for each new product. To provide the lowest risk manufacturing process.
* Advanced Manufacturing: To be champions of new technologies and systems.
* Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineering Role
* Establish and Adhere to Policies and Best Practices
* Lead and participate the Development or Improvement of Equipment, Processes and Manufacturing Methods

Essential Job Functions and Expectations
Demonstrates SoundOff Signal's Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers.
Responsible for carrying out major assignments aimed at determining optimal methods and processes for manufacturing company products. Coordination of activities with other departments, such as R&D, production control, and purchasing. This position demands some knowledge of SMT equipment, processes, and methods. Acquisition, installation, maintenance, and training ability are required.
Product Launch
Manufacturing Engineering Checklist is used and completed to highest standards.
Support Launch Project Timing by defining and supporting Timeline.
Support Labor Goals by leading mechanical and manufacturing design to balance labor, overhead and design costs.
Ensuring in cell work instructions, BOM, Routing, Routing Times and Work Orders are correct, and operators trained in their use.
Support new product development in terms of providing feasibility development for new processes required to support a change in product design/fabrication not currently employed by the organization.
To ensure that all processes and equipment are implemented and operated at a high product quality, as well as high yields are maintained.
Supports pilot build exercises-signing off pilot build indicating manufacturing feasibility has been achieved.
Defines DFA/DFM objectives for SoundOff Signal manufactured products.
Process Support
Provide Process Support for Manufacturing using the Sharepoint Ticket Systems.
Optimize the current equipment using FMEA. Techniques and improve process capabilities.
Concentrate on corrective action by looking below the surface to find root cause (5Why's, 8-D's).
Responsible for the re-layout of manufacturing floor.
Driving/helping identify and document key metrics (+QDIP).
Develop the current process to improve the quality of the product and decrease the cycle time to produce the product.
Process Improvement
Identify and Lead Kaizen Activities
Improving first time quality through appropriate Poka-yoke fixturing and cell layout.
Works as part of a team dedicated to continuous improvement, which works within company policy to meet customer requirements.
Advanced Manufacturing Processes and Technologies.
Drive Innovation with Process and Design utilizing state-of-the-art assembly and design techniques.
Able to perform job consistently without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 7 years related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
ISO quality system and lean manufacturing experience/training.
Knowledge and understanding of overall functions and operations of a manufacturing environment
Strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects at one time.
Ability to operate: PC, WORD, EXCEL, SolidWorks, Minitab
Ability to travel on a limited basis.
Statistical Analysis/Root Cause Analysis
Knowledge of ISO9001 Requirements
Physical Requirements
Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate and/or reach throughout an entire shift.
Must be able to handle and work with small parts.
Working Conditions
Mostly office environment, occasional light manufacturing environment
Fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Low noise level in a temperature-controlled setting
Some level of domestic and/or international travel may be required
May work remotely
Mostly normal business hours with occasional need to flex hours
