Job Summary: The Marketing & Volunteer Lead has dual responsibilities, split between marketing (65%) and volunteer (35%) tasks. This person will lead the development and implementation of marketing and communications activities to promote awareness of the Frauenthal Center. They will assist the Frauenthal Center Leadership team in planning and organizing special events and activities and produce high-quality content to promote the events at the Frauenthal Center in print, digital, and social media. Works in collaboration with philanthropic services to develop and cultivate donors via special events and publications.

Essential Functions:
- Works closely with the Frauenthal Center Leadership team to develop and produce creative concepts and content for print, digital, and/or social media, including newsletters, brochures, invitations, annual reports, press releases, websites, news stories, fundraising materials, e-news, and digital presentations.
- Assists with Web content creation and implements Frauenthal Center social media strategy across multiple digital platforms to activate the online community and develop new audiences, scheduling posts and attending to messages and comments.
- Lead the coordination, creation, and schedule of production or printing with outside vendors.
- Ensure publications and websites are current and adhere to the Frauenthal Center style guide.
- Coordinate digital marquee, hard marquee, window lobby board signage placements, and schedule.
- Work with rental clients to fulfill complementary marketing package items and carry out additional add-on marketing purchases as requested.
- Serve as the main point of contact for volunteers, including, but not limited to, updating mailing and Track it Forward lists, creating monthly sign-ups, distributing postcards, responding to inquiries, coordinating training sessions, and recording hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, are necessary to deal effectively and persuasively with a variety of internal and external contacts. Must effectively represent the Community Foundation and the Frauenthal Center to many different audiences.
- Proficiency in proofreading and editing and ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize multiple projects.
- Familiarity with style guides, particularly Associated Press and the Chicago Manual of Style.
- High-level interpersonal skills necessary to work with others, interact effectively and courteously, and professionally with diverse groups, and be socially perceptive in contact with all individuals.
Preferred:
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in English/writing/journalism or communications/marketing or 5 years of progressive experience in these field (s).
- Knowledge and skill in utilizing Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite software.
- Knowledge and skill in executing website management on a WordPress platform.
