Summary of Functions
Works effectively and efficiently in a dispatch and warehouse environment to receive and schedule shipping/freight operations including creating proper and detailed documentation. Will be responsible for opening packages and checking their contents to ensure they match the orders and inspect 5% of all incoming material or products. Develop a working knowledge of warehouse organization to ensure we receive the correct material internally or externally and stock it appropriately.
Responsibilities
- Receive shipments, sign paperwork upon receipt, inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged, and allocate deliveries to their designated place.
- Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.)
- Coordinates with Quality Management regarding processing of damaged and short/over product.
- Notify Production Manager for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements.
- Creates shipping labels, handles shipping information, and sends booking requests to shipping lines.
- Effectively uses ERP system to maintain records and locate/gather stock.
- Assist in inventory control with cycle counting and physical inventory counts.
- Keeps organized shipping records including statements of origin, shipping costs, products shipped and receipt dates.
- Troubleshoots shipping issues and customer issues that occur regularly to increase warehouse and dispatch efficiency.
- Develops knowledge about freight and sea shipping regulations and practices.
- Communicate with outside vendors and customers to provide/receive follow-up information on orders.
- Verify calibration of gauge equipment prior to use.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Skills
Proven experience as shipping & receiving coordinator or similar position.
- Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data.
- Basic math and recording/clerical abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Great communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Keen eye for detail.
Education and Experience
- High School education.
- Knowledge of product.
