Job Title: Engineering Intern
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
The Engineer Intern is responsible for assisting with entry level designs of/for machines and the creation/maintenance of 2D drafts used for production of parts and assemblies. The primary focus of this position is the documentation of welding process and sequence and updating the applicable 2D drafts with Welding Symbols. They will shadow other engineers in designing, developing, implanting, and analysis of various parts and/or assemblies. They will perform routine engineering design tasks with standard techniques. They will adhere to all Bandit safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learn how to work as part of an engineering team to see the entirety of a project from start to finish.
- Learn various software tools used for engineering.
- Prepare simple parts and assembly drafts, diagrams, or other schematics as necessary.
- Work with engineering to document welding sequences and update or add welding Symbols to 2D drafts.
- Shadow operations to learn the engineering process.
- Support engineering staff on projects.
- Document parts and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid Edge or other design program experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Working towards Bachelors’ degree in related field
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently sit for extended periods of time
- Occasionally stand, walk, push, pull, stoop, pinch, grasp, and/or bend
- Requires employee to occasionally work both inside/outside in heat/cold, and/or wet/humid conditions.
- Occasionally required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injury.
- Occasionally lift 30 pounds
