Join a dynamic group of Power system engineers responsible for the design, development and integration of Power subsystem for the world's premier land-based combat vehicle producer.
Position Title: Power System Intern
The Power system team is part of the Advanced System Engineering group at GDLS. Our mission is to investigate, design, develop, and integrate power subsystem capabilities for the next generation of vehicle platforms and current production platforms. The team works within larger systems group with responsibility and authority to deliver design requirements, perform analysis, guide the hardware and software design teams with the goal of integrating and testing them at the subsystem and vehicle level.

Intern Activities
Onsite Cafeteria remodeled and updated fitness center, and outdoor fitness track.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Help with the design, development, testing and support of the intelligent electrical power distribution and management systems for military vehicles.
Perform laboratory and/or vehicle testing/integration work.
Investigate/debug complex power system interfaces in lab or vehicle.
Assist with drawing power system architectures and schematics using Capital Logic software.
Responsible for testing power distribution and management systems and their associated power distribution hardware components and creating reports on findings.
Qualifications Sought
Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited 4-year university or college, in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
Attained at least a sophomore status based on university/college's class standing requirements at the start of the internship
Preferred - GPA of 3.0. or higher
Course work in Power Electronics required
Must successfully pass standard pre-employment screens and must provide an official college or university transcript from their school before their first day of employment.
Must be able to complete a minimum of a full-time, 3-month assignment.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Information / Desired Experience
This position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Self-starter with good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently with direction from others.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Use of computer and test equipment in both a laboratory and vehicle environment required to complete primary job duties.
Occasionally must lift and carry test equipment weighing 30 lbs.
Experience with CAN bus design J1939 Standard using Vector tools a plus
