Expected Hours of Work:
This position is full-time. The general scheduled workdays are Monday through Friday, plus overtime when required.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a driven and innovative Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our refrigeration manufacturing team. This individual will be responsible for identifying, leading, and implementing process improvements across the plant to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies, with experience in driving performance improvements in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects, utilizing methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other industry-standard tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement, including waste reduction, process flow optimization, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, production) to implement process improvements and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
- Use data analysis to monitor and evaluate the impact of continuous improvement initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Drive Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S, and Standard Work initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and quality.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize downtime, defects, and other operational inefficiencies.
- Train and mentor plant personnel on continuous improvement methodologies and foster a culture of problem-solving and innovation within the plant.
- Coordinate with leadership to establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to continuous improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards while executing process changes.
- Provide technical support to various departments for process optimization and new product introductions
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in continuous improvement, process engineering, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment (refrigeration or related industries preferred).
- Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement tools.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification strongly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) processes.
- Ability to collect and analyze data to drive decision-making and implement process improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and train team members on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with production management software and tools.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
