Role Purpose
As a process engineer in our solar manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for overseeing part of the process to produce high-quality solar products. You will play a key role in optimizing parameters, enhancing equipment performance, and ensuring consistent quality while adhering to safety and efficiency standards. Your expertise in technology will contribute to the advancement of our solar manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize parameters, such as blade speed, feed rate, and coolant flow, to maximize throughput, minimize material loss, and improve quality.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, increase yield, and reduce production costs while maintaining product specifications.
- Manage and maintain product equipment, including diamond wire saws and abrasive slurry systems, ensuring proper operation, calibration, and preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, diagnose mechanical or process-related problems, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain production continuity.
- Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure consistency and reliability of the product, including dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and edge quality.
- Conduct inspections and quality audits, analyzing defects, deviations, and non-conformities to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
- Monitor process parameters and performance metrics in real-time, utilizing data acquisition systems and monitoring tools to track slicing efficiency, yield, and quality indicators.
- Analyze process data, trends, and variability to identify opportunities for process optimization, yield improvement, and defect reduction, implementing data-driven solutions to enhance process robustness.
- Lead technology transfer activities for new processes or equipment, collaborating with R&D teams to validate process scalability, optimize parameters, and ensure successful integration into production.
- Support scale-up initiatives for increased production capacity, providing technical expertise and guidance on equipment selection, layout design, and process implementation.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and industry best practices governing wafer slicing operations.
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety training programs to promote a culture of safety awareness and ensure a safe working environment for personnel.

- (Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm)
- Managing a 24/7 plant structure, so occasional support when needed.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, materials science, or a related field, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Material Science & Engineering preferred
- 2-4 years of experience working in manufacturing
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, process optimization techniques, and data analysis tools is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols in manufacturing.

The range for this position is $79,997.00 - $109,996.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
