Job Summary
The Enterprise Agile Product Coach is responsible for designing and delivering effective training and coaching for all levels of product management (product owner, product manager, and product strategist) as well as other stakeholders throughout the organization regarding the role and interactions. The Product Coach will use their product knowledge to coach new and experienced product management roles in a way that empowers them and other stakeholders with the skills, knowledge, abilities, and strategies needed to excel in an Agile environment.
The Product Coach will use their skills in product management, project management, software development, and or IT, along with experience with Agile frameworks, such as Scrum, Kanban, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to help identify organizational products and lead organizational design efforts to set up new product teams. The Product Coach will have experience setting up product roles in an organization that may not have previously had them.
The Product Coach will work closely with product management roles, business stakeholders, change and communications specialists, and Agile coaches. The Product Coach will lead by example by demonstrating agile values and mindset, while fostering a culture of openness and psychological safety.
Essential Functions
Identifies new organizational products as we launch Value Streams and collaborates with stakeholders on any adjustments on existing organizational products.
Collaborates with and coaches the Product Strategists on developing organizational product visions in support of business strategy, the development and adoption of the product roadmap, and best practices on product metrics definition, tracking, and analysis (beyond the efficiency metrics that are tracked in each Agile Release Train).
Understands the different product management roles and responsibilities and how they interact with each other and stakeholders in an Agile environment.
Conducts assessments and creates effective plans to coach the product management roles (product strategist, product managers, product owners) on their day-to-day functions.
Collaborates and creates alignment with the Enterprise Agile Coaches who are coaching the Scrum Coaches and Release Train Engineers (RTEs) and leading Value Stream launch activities.
Identifies, designs, and facilitates appropriate training initiatives to educate on product management roles, adapting content and delivery methods to meet emerging needs and incorporating the latest product management practices.
Creates a variety of informational materials, including standalone visuals, presentations, workshops, and interactive exercises related to product management in collaboration with Enterprise Agile Coaches, as well as Change and Communication Specialists.
Identifies defined outcomes, as well as monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of both the training and coaching programs, adjusting as needed to improve outcomes.
Acts as a role model for change, learning, and growth.
Uses common product management skills and methodologies, such as design thinking, objectives and key results (OKRs), customer-centric product management, prioritization and value realization, and product development progress.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
10 years of relevant experience in the field Required
One of the following certifications within 180 days of start:
SAFe Release Train Engineer, Certified (RTE)
Adv ScrumMaster, Certified
SAFe Program Consultant, Certified (SPC)
Preferred
Master's Degree or equivalent
15 years of relevant experience in the field
Experience facilitating and delivering workshops and training in SAFe, Scrum and Kanban
Experience working in a large Agile organization applying Scrum, XP, Kanban, SAFe or Lean.
