SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for cultivating agent relationships and bringing in new commercial marine accounts in accordance with the practices, policies and procedures of the Company.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop a marketing plan to discover new marine focused agents.
Call on new agents to discuss the handling of their commercial marine accounts.
Foster existing agent relationships to encourage additional submissions.
Review incoming marine submissions for placement, both program and wholesale.
Underwrite submissions according to the guidelines in place with our backing carrier.
Generate and issue quotes on marine accounts.
Coordinate with the rest of the sales team to ensure common appetite and practices.
Consult with team members on difficult-to-place risks, best placements.
Be responsive and responsible to our agents and carrier contacts.
Cultivate relationships with wholesale markets and underwriters.
Process binding and billing procedures in our various systems.
Be able to handle a book of renewals, assigned from other Production Underwriters.
Work hand in hand with Underwriting Assistants to ensure proper issuance of policies, endorsements, etc.
Responsible for quality work and the provision of excellent customer service.
Other responsibilities as assigned by Underwriter.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience with sales/production
Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Thorough knowledge of commercial coverages a plus.
Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $115,000 and $120,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
