Transportation/Bus Driver
Required Qualifications:
- 18 years of age or older
- Must have or be able to obtain:
- Class A or B CDL with S and P endorsement along with an air break endorsement.
- Pass state required Physical exam and drug screening.
- State required fingerprinting, driver’s license and back ground check.
- Attend and complete a State safety education class, written and driving skill tests.
- Applicant should have ability to interact with both students and parents in a positive manner.
- Experience, preferred.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obeys all traffic laws.
- Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
- Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
- Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.
- Keep assigned bus clean.
- Keeps to assigned schedule.
- Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
- Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
- Discharges students only at authorized stops.
- Exercises responsible leadership when on out of district school trips.
- Transports only authorized students.
- Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
- Endorses regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
