Position Summary
Responsible for the daily operations of the Therapeutic Services department while maintaining compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
Responsibilities
Manage the daily operations of the Therapeutic Services team in assigned state(s) including coordination of the patient and staff schedules
In cooperation with the Program Manager and Operational Excellence team, responsible for Quality Assurance activities and ensures all therpauetic apheresis and cell therapy collection procedures are performed in accordance with all applicable Versiti SOPs and other state and federal regulations and accrediting agencies for the safety of donor and patients; writes and revises SOPs as needed; particpates in audits as needed
Responsible for hiring, developing, evaluating and managing all direct reports through on-going performance management activities; process payroll; ensure nurses are credentialed at hospital partners
Maintains competence of therapeutic apheresis and cellular therapy collection procedures; performs direct patient care when needed
Oversees staff orientation, training plans and materials
Acts as a liaison between Versiti Therapeutic Services and our hospital partners; responds to customer complaints and requests
Meeting attendance: lead scheduled staff meetings; participate in interdepartmental and hospital partner meetings, Versiti management meetings, participate in audits or quality related meetings as applicable
Responsible for departmental projects, which may include data collection and continuous improvement activities; support manager in purchasing and validating new equipment in partnership with Operational Excellence
In cooperation with the Program Manager, manage department budget, including monitoring department revenue, expenses, and procedure volumes on a routine basis
Occasional travel to other states within Versiti's footprint and/or relevant professional meetings
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Associate's Degree Associate degree or RN diploma in nursing required required Experience
1-3 years Nursing experience as RN required
1-3 years Apheresis experience preferred
1-3 years Trainer, mentor and/or leadership experience required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent interpersonal communication and rapport-building skills including the ability to actively listen and respond with empathy, tact and sensitivity required
Ability to communicate and collaborate with others in challenging and stressful situations as well as possess conflict resolution skills required
Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at one time while maintaining attention to detail required
Flexibility and dedication for handling what may be a demanding, irregular schedule required
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment required
Effective problem solving and decision-making skills which demonstrate good judgement required
Commitment to providing an exceptional patient/donor experience required
Ability to apply the basic concepts of nursing, such as pathophysiology, hemo-dynamics, fluid and electrolyte balance requiredLicenses and Certifications
RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure nursing license for state(s) nurse will procedures upon hire required
DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State state drivers license upon hire required
BCLS - Basic Life Support BLS within 60 Days required
Certification as QIA: Qualification in Apheresis preferred Tools and Technology
Use of various apheresis equipment, such as Spectra Optia Apheresis System, Therakos Cellex Photopheresis system preferred
Accessory equipment (IV pumps, blood warmers, non-invasive blood pressure monitor) required
Personal computer/laptop and/or tablets required
Smartphone required
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software preferred
Knowledge and/or experience with hospital based Computerized Patient Record systems (Cerner, EPIC, etc) preferred
