This position will oversee all aspects of the company's tax accounting, tax compliance, domestic tax research and audit defense. The position will lead the quarterly and year-end tax accounting process and oversee the preparation of the federal and state income tax returns. Additionally, the position will lead the audit defense and will have regular interaction with the federal and state tax exam authorities. Finally, the position will interface regularly with the finance, legal, and corporate departments as well as business unit management.
Essential Responsibilities:
Manage the preparation of the consolidated federal income tax return as well as the state & and local income tax returns. Oversee the preparation of the forms 5471, 1118, 8858 that are prepared by an outside service provider.
Direct the income tax provision process, including coordination with third party service providers who assist in the preparation of the company's consolidated quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740. Responsible for documentation and maintenance of Uncertain Tax Positions in accordance with ASC 740-10.
Lead the audit defense efforts related to the examination process of tax returns by various governmental agencies. Provide recommendations to resolve tax audit issues and conclude such audits in a timely manner that is most beneficial to the company.
Lead tax domestic planning.
Coordinate with the regional finance directors of the company's international operations to obtain information for US returns and worldwide tax provision.
Prepare tax forecasts for planning and effective tax rate analysis.
Manage and develop tax personnel.
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years tax experience in public accounting or in a highly complex multinational environment required.
Expertise in federal and state tax is required.
Must possess a detailed technical comprehension of tax law in addition to accounting, business and economic principles and procedures within a complex multinational legal structure
Extensive knowledge of federal income taxation.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and financial analysis skills required to convey the tax impacts of complex technical issues to nontax stakeholders.
The ability to integrate strategic business objectives with overall tax strategies.
Strong training and people development skills.
Project management skills required.
Experience with OneSource Tax Provision and OneSource Income Tax software
Must have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully communicate with all levels of the organization
Educational Requirements:
CPA
Masters of Taxation degree preferred.
